Welcome! My name is Nikki and this is the no excuses blog. It follows the no excuses gang personally and professionally. All kinds of info - some fitness, some personal, challenges we are facing and tips that we have learned during our workouts and chats. Not all serious - but all useful! Sit back, relax and read about some good stuff. Then get moving, shaking and sweating...no excuses.

Stay Motivated

Don't get too frustrated if you don't think the scale is moving down quickly enough. We are doing alot of weights which build muscle and a pound of muscle at rest burns eight times the number of calories that a pound of fat burns. Multiply that by the pounds of muscle in your body, and you have an amazing metabolic furnace. Muscles burn calories 24/7. So, the higher your body's muscle-to-fat ratio, the more calories you're burning, even at rest!
And speaking of calorie burn..............Thanksgiving is coming up. The day of Gluttony and what begins the "Holiday Month of Gluttony". We need to burn off some serious calories! For those of you that are in town, Here is the Thanksgiving weekend schedule:
Wednesday - 6:15am in the gym
I am also open the rest of the day if anyone is interested in another time
Thursday Tukey Day - 8:00-9:30 - my house.
This is a FREE "THANK YOU" class! It is also an hour and a half blast! The first hour will be our normal circuit type class. You are welcome to leave after that! I will not lock you in!! But, if you want to stay, it will be an extra 20 mintues of high intensity cardio and 10 minutes of working those abs. We want them strong and tight so they won't stretch out with all the stuffing!!
Friday morning: 9:00-10:00 -my house. We need to start a little earlier than normal Fridays as the UC game is at noon! (Let me know if you all would like it even earlier as the kids are out of school and you may have stuff to do that day).
Saturday morning - 7:30am - my house
Have a great night and I hope to see you all soon!!
